Back to Church

October 19, 2007 / by Bster

Friday is Grab lunch for everybody day. I don't pay for it but I go to the local Thai or Chinese place and grab it for everybody. Delivery Boys have run their course in the trust department. Cold or tipped over on the way to my mouth. Either way, they just don't deliver like they used to! This same wonderful sentiment goes for co-workers who tended to want to double their freedom on some other duty they may be able to slip on the way.

"Where'd the Gravy for the Cashew Nut Chicken go?"

"uh...here it is" he would say as he held up the bag that used to hold the container my Cashew Nut Chicken was in.

Enough, I said, and from that point on I have gone to get the food myself. I take in about 10 orders on Fridays and I pride myself in making sure everybody is good. I get tips and it usually means lunch for free. So, everything works out well. (In case you are new to the Bster Blog, getting things for free is a common thread around here.....If you can help in any other areas with Free in mind then, by all means, introduce yourself and we shall get along just fine.)

Today, I dropped the food on the customary food table and went away for a bit. By the time I got back everyone had gotten theirs and mine was the only one left. I grabbed my food, I grabbed my fork, but I couldn't grab my soy sauce - there was none left.

Disaster Log 101:

Check drawers....nada
Try food without Soy Sauce.......nada
Check fridges....one in my department....one in another....one in reception....ask receptionist.....NADA
Sweat.....Sweat....Sweat....
Check WM's stash of ketchup, salt, vinegar, napkins, etc etc.......NADA!!!!!!!!!
Check Fridge Drawers...........NADA!

Make deal with God.....I will go to Church Sunday if I can find one damn soy sauce package in my very messy drawers.....

Empty first drawer with pictures and papers and godknowswhatelse.....NADA
Empty second messy drawer.......AND THERE IT IS.......Shining a light into my eyes.........That little black Package.....breathe...breathe...breathe

I didn't lie........I deceived. I will be at the only Church I know nowadays come Sunday........I pray it doesn't rain Sunday. I suddenly have a fear of Lightening

Go Bills!
